iOM successfully implemented their HRPro HCM cloud suite for PHINMA, one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines.

PHINMA has been serving multiple industries in sectors such as housing, energy, finance, as well as construction. Its subsidiaries Union Galvasteel Corporation (UGC), Philcement Corporation, and Phinma Solar Energy Corporation (Construction Management Group) depend on HRPro, a fully-fledged Human Capital Management (HCM) application on a SaaS model to streamline all HR, time keeping and payroll operations in support of rapid business growth.

In the formative years, payroll processing and timekeeping was done manually for most of the PHINMA subsidiaries. The initial phase was to introduce a state-of-the-art HRIS for the PHINMA – Constructions Materials Group (CMG).

The PHINMA Construction Materials Group (CMG) was created in 2018 to bring together the various PHINMA companies involved in the manufacture and distribution of construction materials and services.

Union Galvasteel Corporation President and CEO Ed Sahagun, passionately driven to improve all the existing operational processes of the PHINMA – Constructions Materials Group (CMG), mandated their VP Human Resources the Head of MIS to select a suitable HCM Application to be implemented across the Group. The key objectives being the automation of timekeeping and payroll whilst ensuring data integrity as well as a system fully compliant with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Phinma CMG implemented HRPro to address the challenges of the current HR and payroll team. iOM Philippines Inc., have implemented the system using the tried and tested methodology to ensure that HRPro is configured and set up based on the requirements disclosed by the CMG team.

This implementation also paved the way for CMG to implement new time recording devices fully integrated with HRPro to ensure automated extraction and processing of employee logins and logouts. The dedicated team of CMG and the continuous support and push from the project stakeholders proved to be a key factor for the successful implementation of iOM’s HCM.

With HRPro in place to automate the timekeeping process and payroll execution, CMG team were able to impose a structured and fully efficient work instructions for all staff to follow and comply with the established timekeeping cut-off and scheduled pay-outs. In fact, since the live run of HRPro, all pay-outs have been credited in advance as per scheduled pay-outs.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the system has also been used by CMG to extend financial support to all their employees via HRPro special payroll runs. All scheduled merit increases have been fully automated using the standard HRPro merit increase functionality.

The Philippine implementation was executed by iOM’s Philippine subsidiary headed by Kumar Rasatnam.
