The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) will participate as a national partner in ‘INFOTEL 2013’. South Asia’s premier and Sri Lanka’s largest ICT exposition, INFOTEL 2013 is organised by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS). It will be held from 24 to 27 October 2013 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC)  parallel to World’s Best e-Content Award, ‘World Summit Award 2013’ in Colombo. The three-day event, INFOTEL 2013, is aimed at being a platform to re-image everyday products and services as a whole new world of intelligent devices and systems. The exhibition is broadly focused on enhancing people’s lifestyles with special attention to six sectors such as Education, Medical Science and Healthcare, Transportation, Tourism, Agriculture and Communication. “ICTA is keen to support and be a partner in this national event which has become the flagship IT exhibition in the country over the past two decades. Significantly, this year ICTA is also making arrangements to host the World Summit Award 2013, the World’s Best e-Content Exhibition parallel to INFOTEL from 23 to 26 October in Colombo,” ICTA CEO Reshan Dewapura said. “INFOTEL brings together ICT companies and Government entities which want to win the hearts of their target audiences by showcasing their products and services. With a focus on different sectors in the economy, the organisers have aligned themselves in a journey of fulfilling the country’s needs resulting in synergy tallying with ICTA’s priorities. We will work with the INFOTEL committee for the success of this national event which will deepen people’s concept of pride in their achievements,” the ICTA CEO pointed out. The exhibition will also concentrate on Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) markets, where various products and innovative solutions for these businesses will be showcased. Another aim of this exhibition is to assist in Sri Lanka’s future plans in the requirements for the development of the IT sector in the country. “We are pleased to see this level of support for the INFOTEL Exhibition. It’s a clear evidence of the importance of the exhibition and its success. It also projects ICTA’s dedication towards the country’s future developments that are vitally inked to the IT Sector,” says INFOTEL 2013 President Chinthaka Wijewickrema. “We invite everyone to visit the exhibition to get the latest updates on technologies, products and solutions used in this vital sector. INFOTEL is an important platform for experts, decision-makers, and representatives of the business community,” he added.
