The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) is emphasising the importance of making maximum use of the ICT accesses developed for providing public services to people in an easier and proper manner. By now ICTA has developed several such accesses. The ICTA says that when Government services are provided to the people via internet, the Lanka Government Payment Service (LGPS) could be used to make due payments. Similarly the Government Short Message Service (GovSMS) could be used when providing a government service via SMS. In the same way, the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) facility could be used for storing a government institute’s information and data. Currently about 25 government institutions make use of these facilities. ICTA has taken steps to brief Government institution heads and chief innovation officers about the importance of using these ICT accesses. For further details please visit www.icta.lk
