INFO V 2014 to showcase world’s latest ICT products

INFO V 2014, a grand scale ICT exhibition organised by Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo will be held from 21 to 22 March, 2014 at the school premises. ICT government bodies, top level engineering and ICT universities, industry giants and medical professionals will showcase their latest ICT products and services at the Exhibition. Over 100 schools countrywide, including the north and east, have been invited to participate. The INFO V 2014 launch ceremony will be held on 21 March 2014 at 3 p.m. at the school main hall (Jeremias Dias Hall), graced by Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena as the Chief Guest. The exhibition will be open to students on 21 March 2014 from 8 a.m. and to the public on 22 March 2014 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. INFO V 2014 comprises five main segments which are; 1. ICT Application and Trade Exhibition. 2. Workshops on ICT themes by industrial and academic experts. 3. Trilingual nationwide ICT article competition and launch of the ICT Magazine. 4. ICT Quiz Program on 22 March, 2014. 5. Entertainment zone. The key objective of the program is to enhance the usage of ICT in broader perspective among schoolchildren for effective learning and development, equipping them with knowledge to be a ‘global citizen’. It is in keeping with the government’s ICT policy to ensure effective bridging between rural, urban and global knowledge sources.
