Informatics International Limited (IIL), a leading IT solutions company in Sri Lanka, recently secured an exclusive software development contract with one of the insurance companies in Mauritius, namely Sun Insurance, for their infoIns General Insurance software product.
The infoIns software is specifically aligned to the needs of the General insurance industry and has been locally developed and implemented by the IIL software team. It is suited to be used for areas of motor and non motor insurance such as fire, marine, engineering, health and miscellaneous sectors in General insurance.
This current software contract is the second successful deal that IIL obtained from Mauritius. Thus Informatics has already provided the same General insurance solution for the largest state Insurance Company of the Mauritius (SICOM), which is using the general insurance software from IIL for more than four years.
The functionality of the product enables the company to track and be in control of all activities that take place throughout the day from the time a policy holder enters the office, to the time that the contract is signed. It then further tracks underwriting claims functions, sales and marketing activities, accounts activities that include receivables, payable and general ledger functions. It has a comprehensive reinsurance module as well as the commission module and also sales force maintenance. The administration module takes care of all the administrative activities pertaining to the software.
These state-of the-art implementations offer accurate information about different insurances of the clients while helping the insurance agents to immediately respond to customer requirements. The software is also competitively priced and has the ability to reduce the costs of the firm and manage cut backs on the annual expenditure of the organisation.
It has also helped to reduce the paperwork of proposals and policies and address the customer services effectively in a shorter time than any other traditional method and it integrates with all the core functionalities that include reinsurance, finance, document management systems and workflow systems and also help reduce risk factors. In addition, it has also made it easier for the customers to manage their own portal, to renew their policies when the time is due and to pay via the payment gateway without having to visit the insurance company.
Informatics International’s Head of Project Management Watson, commenting on the partnership between the two companies said: “While managing to meet deadlines requested by Sun Insurance, Informatics International has gained and built a long term relationship with the client and have been able to successfully give a very personalised customer support system to the client.”
Touching on future plans for Informatics, Head of General Insurance, Business Unit Dilanthi Fernando stated that the company was currently in the process of working on softwares that could enable mobile connectivity to the different functionalities of the General insurance industry.
“Today the market is dominated by mobile phones which will soon change in the future as a new wave of smartphones and tablets come into play,” she said. Even though the new wave will have a positive impact on many industries, capitalising on the opportunity to its maximum requires cross-sector collaboration to fully realise the power of mobile for the benefit of the policy holders, as well as the people working for the Iinsurance companies.
“We at Informatics International are gearing ourselves to meet this trend and in the near future further enhance our offerings to companies and make our software to be connectable to valuable business intelligence tools as well, she concluded.
