Intel, a leader in the computing industry, pledges its support to e-governance by partnering with the FutureGov 2011.  The upcoming FutureGov 2011 forum aims to improve the use of technology and enhance e-governance within the Sri Lankan government.

FutureGov 2011 will bring together experts from around the world to provide participants with the necessary skills and tools to best utilize technology effectively within Sri Lankan governmental organizations. The forum will focus on several key areas of application, including knowledge management, re-engineering of government, connected government, cloud computing, m-government and citizen engagement.

“Intel Sri Lanka is committed to our global mission of ensuring that each and every one is enriched through technology and we see this as an ideal opportunity to utilize IT to help hundreds of thousands of individuals across the island,” Intel Country Business Manager for Sri Lanka Indika De Zoysa said.

“E-governance will help make the more conventional practices within the government more effective and enable these agencies to provide much better and more holistic service to Sri Lankans and we are proud to be a sponsor of the FutureGov 2011 forum,” he added. With government agencies still engaged in the very early stages of adapting to an e-governance system, the knowledge and training required to make the best use out of the existing IT infrastructure is still extremely limited. The FutureGov 2011 forum will help resolve this issue by ensuring that the employees within these organizations are educated in the most up-to-date methods.

The forum will utilize real-life best practice case studies, expert presentations, and interactive panels.

“We believe that this forum will help cover the necessary strategies on how to align technology investment with agency priorities – to create the much needed infrastructure and establish the enabling environment for the implementation of e-government services, thus creating and effective and efficient e-governance,” ICTA Chief Executive Officer Reshan Dewapura said.
