International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium Colombo chapter elects new Presi

International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 Colombo chapter, a community of information systems security professionals representing the parent organisation in the United States (www.isc2.org) held its Annual General Meeting recently and elected Priyantha Gamage as its President.

He was one of the founding members of the Colombo chapter and held the positions of Membership Director and the Treasurer prior to being appointed to lead the chapter.

Gamage has been in the banking industry for the past 20 years with wide experience in IS Audit/IS Security/Internal Audit and holds the position of Assistant Vice President, Operational Risk of the National Development Bank. He has obtained the CISA, CISSP certifications from ISACA USA, (ISC)2 USA respectively and is also a Lead Auditor for ISO 27001. He served on the ISACA local chapter board for several years as the CISA/CISM Coordinator and was instrumental in forming the (ISC)2 Colombo Sri Lanka chapter.

Priyantha has been a resource person for CISA review courses for many years at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), and ISACA local chapter and contributed towards producing many information systems security/audit professionals for Sri Lanka. He is also a resource person for the Diploma in Information Systems, Security, Control and Audit (DISSCA) program conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in collaboration with ICA India.

(ISC)2 is the largest non-profit membership body of certified information security professionals worldwide, with nearly 80,000 members in more than 135 countries. Globally recognised as the Gold Standard, (ISC)2 issues the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and related concentrations, as well as the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Authorisation Professional (CAP), and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credentials to qualifying candidates.
