Swiss Advantage Systems Ltd. was awarded the bronze award in the productivity improvement category at the National Best Quality Software Awards ceremony which was held on 17 October, 2013 at The Kingsbury Hotel. The NBQSA awards are held annually by the Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Branch to select the best software products developed in Sri Lanka. Swiss Advantage Systems Ltd. Managing Director Malik Perera said that he is delighted to receive this prestigious award and feels well rewarded for all the hard work they have put into the development of this product which took a period of five years. “We consider it a great achievement because we received this recognition after being selected from over 140 applicants who applied for this competition,” Perera said.   International standard compliant ISO e-Sol the awards winning software is a product developed for ISO 9001 certified organisations. It helps organisations to maintain a paperless ISO 9001 quality management systems while fully complying with all requirements of the international standards. Explaining the features of the product, Perera explained that organisations certified for ISO 9001 quality systems are required to maintain a certain amount of documentation to provide evidence of their quality activities. This volume of documentation sometimes results in employees resisting the system because of the additional documentation and work load to the employees. Process improvement focus Perera added that the ISO 9001 quality management system is one of the best known and highly accepted standards in the whole world. The 2008 version is a fantastic system for achieving a very high level of standardisation and continual improvement in organisations, if they are correctly implemented. The focus is not on documentation but on process improvement. What ‘ISO e-Sol’ does is exactly this. It helps organisations remove all unproductive work employees have to do to maintain the ISO 9001 quality systems, like documentation and data analysis, and thereby release employees for productive activities. The unique feature of the product is the pricing structure, which is affordable even to the smallest company. “Our objective is to make the product available to all the ISO certified companies in Sri Lanka irrespective of the nature or size of the business,” Perera stated.
