As part of the Siemens Digital Manufacturing World Tour 2016 in Colombo, two events will be conducted with the first seminar taking place on Wednesday 27 January at Cinnamon Lakeside.
The seminar will focus on the new and innovative enhancements available within the Siemens NX solution suite in areas of design and manufacturing for the local mould, die, tooling, automotive and mechanical design industries.
Siemens pioneering the way to Industrie 4.0 is driving the digital enterprise by propelling forward the developments in electrification, automation and digitalisation of industrial processes.
Resource personnel at this event would include Anshuman Prakash who is the lead consultant for Siemens Mainstream CAD, Avalon D’mello – Technical Consultant Manufacturing and Arun Stevenson of the Digital Factory Division, PLM Global Sales and Services.
An innovative case study would also be presented by Sudath Fernando, Operations Manager of Benji Ltd. on how NX was used in manufacturing bra cup moulds and how savings were achieved as a result of the high precision within NX solutions and its ability to generate tool paths using non cad data files such as STL (Standard Triangle Language).
The second session of the tour which is the Siemens Academic Partnership Program seminar is scheduled for 28 January at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. The aim of this event is to address workforce and education gaps and to support Universities and Technical institutes improve their ability to develop top-notch engineers and technologists for the PLM industry.
The session will commence with the delivery of the keynote address by Rahul Sehgel Director – Business Consulting and Strategy, Siemens Industry Software and would be followed by Q&A and Lunch.
