LAUGFS Holdings recognised for software excellence at NBQSA

LAUGFS Holdings, the diversified business conglomerate, was recognised for excellence in software at the 15th National Best Quality ICT Awards (NBQSA), the annual competition which recognises exceptional local ICT innovations and achievements, held recently at The Kingsbury. The LAUGFS Corporate IT department won three awards in total at this prestigious ceremony amidst stiff competition from many established Sri Lankan IT companies which competed across 16 categories. The team received a Gold award for its ‘Pay & Go’ payment gateway solution under the Finance Applications Category, a merit award for the LAUGFS Gas Enterprise System under the E-Logistics & Supply Chain Management category and another merit award for the ISO Document Managing System under the In-House Applications category. The awards were accepted by LAUGFS Holdings Group CIO Kanishka Weeramunda and Software Development Manager Rajeeva George on behalf of the LAUGFS Corporate IT Team. The awards are a testament to the exemplary leadership of Weeramunda under whose guidance the Corporate IT Team has contributed immensely to the development and expansion of the LAUGFS Group. The NBQSA NBQSA is an internationally accepted event organised annually by the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka (BCSSL) section. The objectives of the NBQSA competition are to provide recognition to outstanding achievements which contribute to the development of ICT, to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services. The panel of judges for this edition included highly accredited personnel from the fields of IT, academia, marketing, finance and engineering, ensuring that all aspects of the required fields in the competition were rigorously and impartially evaluated.
