Metropolitan launches Canon Pixma cloud-enabled smart printer

Canon and Metropolitan Computers introduced four exciting all-in-one printers last week that offer the latest cloud-enabled remote printing technology as well as ink efficient low cost printing solutions to Sri Lanka’s diverse clientele.

These all-in-ones incorporate new features such as the PIXMA Cloud Link and Enhanced Full HD Movie Print, which heightens the photo sharing experience. It comes packed with convenient features like WiFi capabilities and advanced mobile printing features.

The inbuilt wireless technology and the access to documents on Google docs and on the cloud make printing simpler and convenient from any location without the need for a PC. Furthermore, the full HD movie print function helps users relive memories from a video in a single photo.

These printers also have access to a large variety of colour and attractive web templates to print stationery, memos and calendars. Also available is the Google Cloud Print on which users can print documents on the cloud which allows print jobs to be freely sent through the web (from web applications such as Google Docs and Gmail).

Further, this PIXMA range supports AirPrint wireless printing for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. AirPrint saves valuable time and provides a seamless user experience by allowing users to wirelessly print photos, emails, web pages, and other documents without the need for installing device drivers.

Keeping cost in mind, Canon and Metropolitan have introduced to Sri Lanka the low cost multi-function PIXMA E500 printer, suitable for homes and small offices with large printing volume, and ideal for those who want to copy and scan at the same time. The low cost is a key feature of this model. With an approximate black and white photo copy/print cost of Rs. 2, users can enjoy great savings.

He added that photos appear true to life with exceptional vibrancy and incomparable quality as the versatile E500 is equipped with FINE print head technology that produces a wide color gamut to achieve vivid coloration, high glossiness and true depth. Users can print ready-to-frame photo images in minutes and with ChromaLife Technology, they get 100 years of photo longevity under album storage.

The printer also comes with a full HD movie print feature where multiple frames can be merged to show natural flow of movement. Users can print CD5 and CD jewel cases with the newly introduced disc label printing which comes with 33 layouts options and 11 background samples.
