The country’s National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel recently joined hands with its parent company Sri Lanka Telecom to be the Principal Sponsors of the 30th National Information Technology Conference, which is organised year-on-year by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka.
Themed this year as ‘ICT for GAP: Governance, All, Peace,’ the conference was held recently at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo. The theme emphasised the role of ICT in establishing good governance; promoting equal opportunities; and sustaining peace.
The Computer Society of Sri Lanka annually organises the National Information Technology Conference, which is one of the top ICT events in Sri Lanka. The objective of the NITC is to bring attention the recent developments in the ICT field and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge amongst the ICT fraternity which includes entrepreneurs, academia, visionary ICT leaders and industry professionals.
As the National mobile service provider, Mobitel saw this event as a boon for Sri Lanka’s ICT sphere as a whole and was happy to associate with the event as a sponsor and supporter of an infrastructure building initiative of a national level.
