New GM Network Operations at Sierra Global

Ajith Liyanage has been appointed as the General Manager – Network Operations Division (NOD) at Sierra Global Network Private Limited, one of the leading telecommunication infrastructure development and managed services company in Sri Lanka. Ajith will assume duties at Sierra Global with effect from 1st of March and will directly report to the Director / CEO.

Ajith holds a B.Sc. degree from University of Peradeniya, and has been working as an Engineer at Mobitel and Etisalat, Head of Network Operations at Lanka Bell, Senior Project Manager at Nokia, Head of Managed Services at iGTL during his career over the past 20 years. Ajith has completed training in many technological areas, CDMA, GSM, AMPS including Nortel, AT&T, Fujitsu, AirSpan, Nokia, Alcatel, Huawei and Ericsson.   

Sierra Global has been expanding in to the network operations area aggressively over the past few years, and expecting to capture the market share of 75% by end of the year. Sierra Global consist of 4 divisions - Network Operations Division (NOD), Project Management Office (PMO), Government & Regulatory Affairs Division (GRAD), and Finance & Administration Division (FAD).
