PC House Plc, the sole authorised distributor for Norton products in Sri Lanka, has launched the latest versions of Norton by Symantec’s security solutions.

This includes Norton’s award-winning core security product for Windows based PCs, Macs, iPhone, iPad and Android-based phones and tablets, Norton 360 Multi-Device and its flagship security offering for mobile devices – Android, iPhone and iPad, Norton Mobile Security.

The Norton 360 Multi-Device is fully compatible with the newly released Windows 8 operating system  and is optimised to make Windows 8 safer and faster compared with running Windows Defender on Windows 8; and Norton Mobile Security delivers powerful protection for consumers’ mobile needs, including support for iPhone and iPad, contacts backup and an improved user experience.

“Today, consumers are living nearly every aspect of their lives online through their multiple connected devices and often putting personal information at risk,” said Ritesh Chopra, Country Sales Manager, India and SAARC, Norton by Symantec.

“As the market leader, Norton is constantly innovating its products to address changing consumer habits and with our latest releases, Norton responds to this and other consumer vulnerabilities with stronger social media and scam protection to ensure consumers are safe in the multi-device, Wi-Fi-enabled world.”

Ideal for Sri Lankan consumers who have multiple devices and want a simple, easy-to-use security solution, Norton 360 Multi-Device provides protection for Windows based PCs, Macs, iPhone, iPad and Android-based phones and tablets, right out of the box along with 25 Gig of online backup. It offers a single key to activate protection on all devices.

It uses a cloud-based Norton management console that lets users take charge of their devices’ security from anywhere, at any time, on the internet. In addition, Norton 360 Multi-Device is a flexible solution that allows customers to move protection from one device to another to meet their changing needs as they add or change the number and type of devices they own.

“The Sri Lankan market has experienced a steady growth in mobile penetration with a large portion of users carrying more than one device. With more personal information being stored on these devices, it is important to secure this data from viruses and other threats. The Norton 360 Multi-Device and Norton Mobile Security solutions provide Sri Lankan users with an effective yet economical means to do this,” said a spokesperson of PC House.

For Sri Lankan consumers who are looking at securing their mobile devices only, Norton Mobile Security helps consumers keep their device secure, recover a lost or stolen device and prevent strangers from accessing their information. Mobile phones are an integral part of consumers’ lives, with two-thirds of adults worldwide reporting they use a mobile device to access the Internet.

However, one in three mobile device users have had a device lost or stolen, putting their sensitive information at risk.

Priced at Rs. 4,500 and Rs. 1,700 respectively, the Norton 360 Multi-Device and the Norton Mobile Security are now available at all PC House outlets and authorised resellers island wide.

Norton Mobile Security offers key features including:

  • Remote locate – Pinpoints your lost or stolen phone or tablet on a map to help you find it fast
  • Contacts backup and restore – Saves contacts from a user’s Android, iPhone and iPad so that they can be easily restored if lost or deleted.  Contacts can also be restored across devices
  • Remote lock – Locks a lost or stolen phone or tablet to prevent strangers from using it and seeing anything that’s stored on it
  • Web-based management – Lets consumers control the security of their devices with simplicity and ease, from one convenient place on the web.
