Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific last week announced the introduction of two new Interactive Electronic Whiteboards to the Sri Lankan market through its local partner Softlogic. These revolutionary and stylish whiteboards come with multi-touch capabilities (dual touch).
The new Interactive models, UB-T580 and UB-T580W, are designed to fit seamlessly in Sri Lanka’s education market.
The UB-T580 is a high-technology educational tool that lets teachers grab the students’ attention simply connecting a PC and a projector. Teachers can display information from anywhere such as the internet. Teachers and students can also write on the board using a finger, stylus pen or electronic pen. Handwritten notes can be inserted into Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint. As these new boards are USB powered, there is no need to connect a power cord to the wall socket.
They come bundled with software tools to assist teachers and students in the classroom. Useful features include a recorder to record the lesson, a direct print button for instant printing and “whiteboard mode.”
Deputy Managing Director of Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific Wilfred Wee said that the new models are priced very competitively in the market so as to entice Sri Lanka’s budget-conscious education market. “As these revolutionary boards become more and more affordable, schools are likely to move away from the traditional whiteboard and embrace new technology solutions like ours,” he added.
Executive Director Softlogic Holdings PLC Suraj Fernando said, “We’re happy to join synergies with an international top-end brand such as Panasonic, to herald a new dimension to the knowledge and training providers in this country as well as the business sector who are powered and energised by office automation in their day to day office work. The introduction of these new Interactive Electronic Whiteboards will no doubt enrich our product offering, thereby elevating the learning experience to a different level.”
Unlike most interactive board manufacturers, Panasonic has a strong line-up of Electronic Whiteboards. Truly a market leader in this segment, Panasonic leaves no chance to competition. Along with the interactive whiteboards, it also introduced two new models,
UB-5335 and UB-5835 today. Besides its stylish look, the new models are also equipped with useful features like direct USB memory where users can save the information on the board directly onto the USB flash memory. Besides, it also comes with software that does an overlay function. This means that the software can merge the image from the projector as well as the handwritten notes
Panasonic has an accumulated knowledge for over 60 years in communications products such as fax machines and telephones. In recent years, laser multi-function printers also formed part of its strong line-up. Currently, Panasonic offers a range of multi-function printers ranging from compact size, which is an optimal choice for homes and small remote home offices. In addition, its higher-speed and networked printers cater to most other business printing needs. Panasonic is proud to introduce four flagship models, MB-1500, MB-2030, MB-3010 and MB-6020, which are especially for the Sri Lanka market.
