By Sarah Hannan Ever considered a more proactive and efficient way to monitor your on-field sales staff and acquire the status reports and invoice details as and when the transactions occur during their field visits? Prima Management Services (PMS) Ltd. has step-up to make this a reality by introducing a user-friendly application that runs on the sophisticated Windows Phone 8 platform and promises to allow real time updates and monitor progress on the go. The application which is set to facilitate Sales Force Automation (SFA) was launched amidst the presence of stakeholders, partners and sales staff of Prima Group of Companies on Monday 25 November at Cinnamon Lakeside. Prima Group of Companies Group General Manager Tan Beng Chuan speaking at the event stated that in order to stay ahead of the game companies need to constantly innovate: “The pilot was initiated in one of the group’s sister companies Ceylon Agro Industries and witnessing the improvement the group today launches the SFA application to all its companies.” “This is a great product that can add a lot of value as a first level enterprise application which is hosted on the Windows Phone 8 platform. Speaking of Windows mobile, within the last eight to nine months we have managed to achieve double digits in the market share of smartphones. “As a company Prima has been betting with Windows Mobile even when our market shares were at a single digit. The company is gifted with the best app developers in the country and this launch is just the beginning as Prima takes their partnership to the next level with Microsoft,” Microsoft Sri Lanka Country Manager Imran Vilcassim reassured on behalf of the technology giant. Marking the launch of SFA app PMS Ltd. Country IT Head Crysantha Perera gave a comprehensive walkthrough about the functionalities of the app and how it synchronises between the ‘back office app’ and the ‘field sales app’. “Sales Force Automation which is built on Microsoft platform assists companies to seamlessly leverage their sales force while extending access to large number of distributors for greater functionality and effective management of its people and data. So far ACL Electric Ltd., ACL Cables PLC and Kelani Cables PLC have tested and proved that this application is a great success. Our sister company Ceylon Agro Industries Ltd. has been using this application since inception which helped us refine and constantly improve on this integrated solution further,” he reiterated.
