In one of its newest moves to make its services more accessible, Hutch has come up with an innovative way to facilitate reloads for their customers.

An agreement was signed with one of Sri Lanka’s oldest pay phone operators Tritel recently, and this service is now accessible to all Hutch users.

Commenting at the event Hutch Head of Operations Anand Prakash said: “Customer convenience is of utmost importance to us, and we know that Tritel telephone booths are well serviced by their network and are kept operating at all times of the day.

Facilitating reloads through the payphone network will empower our customers to be connected at all times any day or month. In addition to this, the payphone top up facility compliments our network of distributors and therefore, this would give us a wider penetration into the market.”

Tritel Managing Director and CEO Nihal Rathnayake commented, “Sheer customer convenience and affordability are the cardinal principles of the business philosophy practiced by Tritel, that has for over a decade strived for excellence in providing quality affordable services to people from all over the country and all walks of life. The service brings about a spurt in low denomination mobile reloads, starting from as low as Rs. 20, the Tritel reload facility is more affordable and easily accessible at all Tritel Payphone Terminals deployed through the length and breadth of the country.”

He also said that the service has been simplified further by offering a less complicated set of commands so as to not burden the user with sophisticated instructions.

A user can insert the desired amount in Re. 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5  and Rs. 10  coins, then dial 9, followed by the ‘Reload amount in figures’ and the HUTCH Telephone number. The ‘User’ will then receive confirmation of the reload via SMS — a foolproof and fast method to receive the service.

Rathnayake went on to say that this is a system, which has not been made available even in the most developed countries so far.

Hutch says that this service, which would give unrestricted access of their services to their loyal customers, is also set to revolutionise the prepaid mobile sector in the country.
