Revolutionary Mobitel Innovation Centre launched at TRACE Expert City

Amidst a grand gathering of industry experts and staff of Mobitel, President Maithripala Sirisena declares open the Mobitel Innovation Centre at the TRACE Expert City in Maradana recently. Also present are Mobitel CEO Ranjith G. Rubasinghe, Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeem and MP Gamini Jayawickrama Perera The national mobile service provider Mobitel held the inaugural opening of the revolutionary state-of-the-art Mobitel Innovation Centre which was ceremoniously launched by President Maithripala Sirisena at the TRACE Expert City Colombo, the City of Innovation, Research & Development. TRACE Expert City comprises of a group of successful businesses and experts who aspire to transform Sri Lanka into an economically sound, knowledge rich, techno-centric, sustainable business hub by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and professionalism through technology. The objective of the TRACE project is to create an ecosystem that supports science, technology and innovation to lead the country towards a knowledge-based society that supports the country’s long term economic, social and environmental growth and development while also enhancing existing opportunities for research and development. The initiative also provides access for new partnerships among tech-oriented companies, academic partners and other institutions to engage in commercially feasible ventures. The Mobitel Innovation Centre, a state-of-the-art hi-tech research and development facility, will be committed to contributing towards the development of society through multi-dimensional innovations and will collaboratively work with like-minded institutions, entrepreneurs, SMEs, students and tech enthusiasts to harness the best technological solutions. The centre will work closely on domains that cover NFC solutions, digital connected life solutions, M2M (machine to machine) solutions, location and tracking solutions, cloud platform services and IOT (Internet of Things) related solutions.
