IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announced that Saab, the global defence and security company, has chosen to expand its use of IFS Applications to execute on its global growth strategy. The agreement includes additional user licenses, functionality to enhance project capabilities as well as mobile solutions to streamline supply chain operations. Saab first chose to implement IFS Applications in 1994 and has since worked in close collaboration with IFS to expand and refine the business solution. In 2009, Saab decided to implement its IFS solution across the entire group and in September 2012, the company further expanded its business relationship with IFS to enable global growth and standardise its multinational operations. In line with Saab’s long-term IT strategy, and to support the company’s global growth, the current agreement includes an increased user base as well as functionality to support critical business operations. “Last year, we extended our strategic business partnership with IFS and laid the foundations for the globalisation and growth of our business and operations,” Saab CIO Mats Hultin said. “We are now executing on that strategy. This investment is yet another step in our strategy of global and profitable growth—which is supported by an agile business partner.” “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Saab, which started almost twenty years ago,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “We are confident that our leading industry solutions, backed by a global delivery network, will continue to support Saab’s international growth.” IFS, the global enterprise applications company, through its specialist A&D industry team, offers IFS Applications, off-the-shelf, component-based solutions supporting organisations operating in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) sector. Target sector solutions include manufacturing, MRO, SCM, PBL and fleet operator programs.
