Sierra Global completes ‘In Building Solution Project’ of Nelum Pokuna Auditorium

The growth of mobile communications has meant that the provision of wireless communication within airports, factories, stadiums, auditoriums and office buildings has become not only expected but in some instances mandatory.



Sierra Global Network (Pvt.) Ltd., a leading telecommunication infrastructure development and managed services firm has successfully implemented the In Building Solution system for the Nelum Pokuna (Lotus Pond) Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre recently. The architecture of the building is inspired by the 12th-century Nelum Pokuna (Lotus Pond) in Polonnaruwa built by King Parakramabahu is shaped as a stylised eight-petalled lotus flower. The building spreads over 14,000 square metres floor area and the theatre is equipped with ultra modern facilities such as an auditorium with 1,288 seats, a library, and training facilities.
