SLASSCOM appoints new Board Members for 2012

SLASSCOM appointed four new Board Members to the Board of Directors of SLASSCOM consisting of key industry leaders and decision makers at the recently held AGM. Ruwindhu Peiris was appointed as the General Secretary while Dr. Arul Sivagananathan was appointed as the Treasurer for 2012-1214. Ashique M. Ali, Decca F.C. Fan, Jeevan Gnanam were the other members who joined the SLASSCOM board. In addition, eight new members were also elected to the General Council of SLASSCOM.

IT/BPO industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Sri Lanka and has set a target of US$ 1 billion export revenue by 2015. The Sri Lankan IT and BPO industry export earnings estimated at more than US$ 400 million. SLASSCOM plays a catalyst role with aggressive plans to capitalise the opportunities for Sri Lanka in 2012.

SLASSCOM as the IT/BPO chamber represents and plays the role of strategic advisor to the government and its member companies on public policy and international trade development in the Sri Lankan IT/ITES sector. Membership includes both Sri Lankan and multinational companies that have presence in Sri Lanka and open to companies involved in knowledge services including software and IT enabled services industry. SLASSCOM member companies are engaged in the business of software development, software products, consulting services, BPO services, KPO services, e-commerce and web services to name a few.
