SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies) together with Dialog Axiata is organizing a one day workshop on Lean Six Sigma Champion Training on 25th November 2011 at the Dialog Future World Auditorium at Excel World Entertainment Park.
This is the 3rd best practice sharing session organized by the Quality Forum initiative of SLASSCOM. Two other best practice sharing workshops have been organized by SLASSCOM during the last few months, namely on Carbon Foot printing and Demystifying Lean Six Sigma for the quality practitioners of the industry.
Even though Lean Six Sigma is one of the strongest process excellence methodology used around the world, proper application and usage is still a challenge to many entities in Sri Lanka. Thus, SLASSCOM as the IT-BPO and Knowledge Services industry chamber has taken the lead to organize the Lean Six Sigma Champion Training to benefit its’ member companies and the industry.
The training aims to provide awareness to deployment leaders on how Lean Six Sigma can be implemented successfully as a part of their organizational excellence journey. Demystifying lean six sigma methodology, lean six sigma deployment models, selecting LSS projects and belts, DMAIC Road map, introduction to lean six sigma tools and measuring success are some of the components covered during the workshop. The training will be facilitated by the Senior Manager of Process Excellence and Lean Six Sigma of Dialog Axiata, Dumidu Ranaweera.
This initiative comes under the SLASSCOM Quality Forum with its primary focus on initiatives to develop enterprise capability with adoption of international standards of quality, information security and governance. “We are looking forward to establishing a ‘Quality Circle’, a team consisting employees in the field of Quality Assurance of our member companies, with the focus of enabling a platform to network and share best practices of the companies.
Moreover the input from the ‘Quality Circle’ would assist us to identify the training and certification requirements in the industry” said Sandra De Zoysa, Director and head of the Quality Forum for SLASSCOM.
All SLASSCOM’s Quality Forum initiatives are geared towards driving Sri Lanka to reach our national goal of becoming the number one industry to lead Sri Lanka to the Knowledge economy while achieving the target of US$1 billion in revenue and employment to over 100,000 by 2015.
