SLASSCOM’s Compensation and Benefit Survey of the IT & BPM industry of Sri Lanka was made public recently. The survey conducted by PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC) together with SLASSCOM, provides a comparison of a wide spectrum of jobs and corresponding benefits in the industry and is the most comprehensive study of its kind in Sri Lanka. It is the fifth consecutive year in which the survey is being conducted using data from a substantial number of small, medium and large organisations in the IT, BPO and KPO sectors. SLASSCOM Chairman Jayantha De Silva shared his thoughts regarding the successful completion and publishing of the survey results stating, “SLASSCOM’s Compensation and Benefit Survey has fulfilled the need of a compensation and benefits benchmarking tool for the IT and BPM industry in Sri Lanka, very well. The survey is in its fifth consecutive year and is therefore in a position to provide a narrative and illustration of the expansion of the IT/BPM industry during the past five years. “SLASSCOM’s consistent effort in conducting this survey has resulted in a reservoir of information which is extremely useful for policy makers and all other stakeholders of the industry. It has been a great experience partnering with PWC in this endeavour and I wish to thank all participants of this process for their cooperation.” SLASSCOM is Sri Lanka’s premier IT-BPM and Knowledge Services industry chamber, active in facilitating trade and business, propagation of education and employment, encouragement of research and innovation, and supporting the creation of a progressive national policy framework in the interest of the IT-BPM industry. SLASSCOM Board Member and Head of HR Forum Mohan Fernando reiterated, “SLASSCOM’s Compensation and Benefit Survey has become one of the most anticipated activities in our HR calendar each year. It has grown to fulfill the requirement of an industry benchmark in the compensation and benefit space used by all key players in the industry. Participation in the survey has improved by almost 50% this year and growing confidence in the survey has created an unprecedented demand for the report. “I would like to thank all the companies who participated in this year’s survey and have the pleasure of announcing that plans are already underway to include even more enhanced analytics on regional and global comparisons in the 2016 survey in addition to current industry trends that the report provides.” The survey is available for purchase at the SLASSCOM corporate office.
