Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) introduced a new platform ‘Intelligent Solutions’ at the Enterprise Customer Forum on Tuesday to further inform about the services offered through the network.
In the ever-changing world of technology, organisations are constantly seeking reliable ICT solutions to fulfil their business requirements. Through its portfolio of next generation intelligent solutions, SLT provided cutting-edge services to co-operate to meet their organisational goals.
With SLT ‘Intelligent Solutions,’ customers could obtain comprehensive solutions to their ICT requirements by integrating appropriate product portfolios such as voice, networking, data hosting, and managed services.
The forum began with an introduction of the current networking systems of SLT. Chief Enterprises and Wholesale Officer K.A. Kiththi Perera said: “We are hoping to expand our wings by hosting several other networking systems in the future, the key offering of this networking system is to guarantee higher availability, this is the best value proposition to unleash true potentials, we will manage your IT service while you design.”
SLT Chief Executive Officer Greg Young said: “We recognise the future, to bring in efficiency to our customers by connecting them, being selected by a majority of customers we have successfully reached a target of one million fixed line customers, covering 25% fixed line networks in the country. SLT is the communicating backbone for large, small and medium scale enterprises. We learn from you of what you need us to give you for the future, therefore, we introduce a new technology and which will take the network directly to the street or your organisation by fibre optics for clarity voice feedback.”
He also mentioned the recent project ‘i-Sri Lanka,’ which was a great success.
SLT General Manager Enterprise Sales Janaka Abeysinghe described the SLT Intelligence Solutions. “Through this networking system we could access the information of our organisation much securely,” he said. The Intelligent Solutions is divided into four main categories: Voice, Networking, Data Hosting and Managed services. Voice mainly focuses on enterprise voice, business trunking, business IVR, and business hotline. Networking focuses on IP VPN, ethernet VPN, business internet line, global business data line, while data hosting focuses on server hosting, IT collaboration, DR solutions and IT backup. Finally, managed services focuses on IP telephony, video conferencing, and contact centre.
“We can offer you a premium quality voice, while giving you the best trunk of business and many other reliable solutions,” Abeysinghe said. The advantages of the system can be listed as lower cost, higher speed, secure access of business information at anytime anywhere in the world. Mainly if your organisations have spread its branches around the globe, you can easily access through the information of them securely.
Partnering with SLT, Mobitel Senior Manager Business Solutions Chamith Hettiarachi, introduced the networking systems and packages they provide.
“We are currently in the process of bringing in sweet benefits for our enterprise customers, because the customer not only need voice, but a total IT solution. Mlocator is a networking system created by GPS technology, given only for the Corporates and field staff to locate the exact where about of the mobile owner. We are also introducing M-Track, a GPS tracking solution for the vehicles owned by the corporates.”
A normal mobile network provides you a facility of sending a text messages to four people in 60 seconds, Mobitel now introduces their customers with an easy network that will send 100 text messages per second to agents or corporate islandwide.
“We have also introduced the NFC based fuel card solution, which is provided on behalf of vehicle allowances of the company. You could easily pump in the required amount of fuel with a simple tap on the device. This is only the start of the NFC cards you will be able to experience much more innovations of this technology.”
