South Asian Mobile Confab next week a pivotal in regional empowerment says ICTA

The South Asian Mobile Conference will be held in Sri Lanka for the second consecutive year.  

Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya will grace the inauguration of the conference as chief guest at Hotel Galadari, Colombo at 9 a.m. on Tuesday 7th instant.

The conference will be an ideal opportunity for sharing of views and strategic considerations on the subject, CEO of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) that hosts the event Reshan Dewapura said.

“It will be rare opportunity for sharing and exchange that will go a long way for contributing a great deal for empowering all through the latest mobile and related technologies. ICTA is pleased to host The South Asian Mobile Conference for the second consecutive year. Regional conferences like this are important  in making the creativity of regional thinking guide  the designing of products more suitable for the regions”, Dewapura emphasised.

Local and international experts will enrich the conference and contribute in sharing and exchange of valuable expertise . The names of keynote speakers and the titles of their addresses constitute a valuable indication of the fund of wisdom  in store at this conference.

Among the key note speakers will be Impact Mobile Canada President and CEO Gary Schwartz who will speak on “Click2K’Ching: The Impulse of Economy”;,  Mobillium International Founder  and CEO and Mobile Entertainment – Americas Emeritus Chairman  Ralph Simon addressing on “The latest from the world new media and cross media”  and Dialog Axiata  PLC  Sri Lanka Group CEO Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya delivering address on “Leveraging the mobile last mile for inclusive ICT service fulfillment”.

A glance through themes of the plenary sessions also  give further insight into the depth and width of the subjects covered: The conference will include four plenary sessions themed: “Mobile content applications; what is to come”, “Business models for mobile content”, “Mobile for enabling rich content for mobile users” and “Mobile – a giant in media and communication” respectively.
