Sri Lanka’s Sujit Christy featured in ISLA 2013

(ISC)2 (ISC-squared), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), had its seventh annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLA) Program on 8 August 2013 in Manila, Philippines. Part of (ISC)2’s global Awards Program, ISLA aims to recognise the ongoing commitment by information security leaders in Asia-Pacific who have significantly enhanced the workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in an information security workforce improvement initiative, program or project. (ISC)2 recognised 28 honourees and announced three showcased workforce initiatives and a community service star special recognition at a Gala Dinner and Ceremony sponsored by Microsoft. The Guest of Honour, Jejomar C. Binay, Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, together with (ISC)2 executives, celebrated the workforce achievements of top information security professionals from Asia-Pacific. (ISC)2 President’s Award recipient Sujit Christy, Director, Layers-7 Seguro Consultoria Ltd. was recognised for the instrumental role he played in bringing the Safe and Secure Online programme to India and Sri Lanka. He is also an (ISC)2 exam supervisor as well as the founder and charter secretary of the (ISC)2 Chennai Chapter, a board member of the (ISC)2 Colombo Chapter and a volunteer with (ISC)2 Foundation. He received this award from the (ISC)2 President Hord Tipton. The ISLAs Program held annually by(ISC)2 in cooperation with the(ISC)2 Asian Advisory Board to recognise outstanding leadership and achievements in workforce improvement of information security and management professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. Sujit Christy was recognised as an honouree for the year 2013 and received another award in the Information Security Practitioner Category from the Jejomar C. Binay, Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines.
