Startup Sri Lanka is an initiative by SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies), where its main mandate is to initiate, incubate and accelerate startups. Driving this objective, there’s a variety of initiatives organised, such as mentoring programs as well as bootcamps where domain experts would come together to share their experience on focused topics.

Disrupt 2.0 which is now titled Startup Sri-Lanka Boot-Camp, conducts bi-monthly bootcamps for startups.

The latest iteration of the boot camp is organised on 29 November focusing on UX, or User Experience, a topic that most people tend to ignore. Nonetheless it is a vital area to get right if you want your product to have a successful life cycle as well as get more users locally and internationally.

The workshop is ideal for startup founders who want to design world class products. As such those taking part in the workshop will learn about the frameworks for design thinking. In addition, mentors would analyse selected startups’ products in order to provide feedback and guidance on improvements, potential changes and also assist the startups in problems that they are facing. At the end of the day, a review of common lessons learnt will be followed by a Q&A session on other design ideas and resources.

The event will be conducted by Lee Bazalgette, Director at Colombo Design Studio and Hiraash Thawfeek, Co-founder and CTO at Creatley. If you want to be a part of this, then now’s your chance.

The Startup Sri Lanka Advanced UX Design Workshop Boot camp will be held on 29 November from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Hive located inside the MAS Innovation Centre. Registrations are limited and early applications are encouraged. Register for the workshop via www.slasscom.lk.

The main sponsor for the bootcamp is Brandi3, Infrastructure Partner Regus Sri Lanka and Digital Media Partner ReadMe.
