  • Nokia launches Lumia WP8 devices in SL and offers Dialog, Mobitel and Etisalat customers get free 3G data packages for a year

Nokia introduced the highly anticipated Lumia range powered by Windows Phone 8 (WP8) to Sri Lanka yesterday. The new range includes the world’s most innovative smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 620.

With the latest range of Lumia Windows 8 devices, Nokia is all set to lead the charge for the Windows phone ecosystem with its Lumia differentiators.

The Nokia Lumia WP8 devices are a powerful combination of Microsoft and Nokia’s core assets delivering new experiences through the integration of service assets across location, search, entertainment, social, advertising and commerce.

They bring content to life with head-turning design, familiar Nokia elements, such as leading imaging capabilities and new signature experiences. The roll out of not two, but three devices reflects our commitment to our consumers in Sri Lanka.” The models launched include the Nokia Lumia 920 with the latest advances in Nokia PureView imaging innovation. Using advanced floating lens technology, its camera takes in five times more light than competing smartphones without using flash, making it possible to capture clear, bright pictures and video indoors and at night.

It also introduces optical image stabilisation for the clearest, brightest pictures and video even when shooting indoors or at night. Additionally, Nokia Lumia 920 is the first integrated wireless charging smartphone, with the technology built right into the handset. The Nokia Lumia 920 is available at a price of Rs. 99,900 in four exciting colours.

The Nokia Lumia 820 is a stylish, mid-range smartphone that delivers high-end performance in a compact package. Microsoft’s unique productivity offerings also make Nokia Lumia 820 the obvious smartphone choice for any type of business.  

It comes with exchangeable shell covers in a range of vibrant colours, including the option to add wireless charging. The Nokia Lumia 820 also boasts the world’s most sensitive touch-screen and Nokia Clear Black display technology, ensuring easy visibility in the brightest sunlight. The Nokia Lumia 820 is available at a price of Rs. 69,900 and comes in four colours.

More fun and more youthful, the Nokia Lumia 620 uses a new dual-shot colour technique to deliver a variety of striking colour and texture effects. With five different exchangeable shells to choose from, people can adapt the look of their Nokia Lumia 620 to their own personal taste and style.

With NFC support, the Nokia Lumia 620 can easily share and receive content by tapping with compatible devices. The device comes in three colours and is available at a price of Rs. 38,900.
