Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the national telecommunications provider presents their customers with an opportunity to be a part of the T20 World Cup action with the launch of ‘Dial and Win – Become an SLT Cricket Star’ cricket quiz. From 17 September to 31 October, SLT Megaline and Citylink customers of all ages can dial 1298 to participate in the quiz and stand a chance to win the grand prize of Rs. 50,000.
“Being the host nation of the T20 World Cup is a great honour for Sri Lanka, and as the national telecommunications provider, Sri Lanka Telecom is proud to give all of our customers the opportunity to be a part of the excitement and action,” SLT CEO Greg Young said.
The competition consists of five levels with each level organised in the format of a 20 ball cricket match, where runs will be scored for the number of correct answers to 20 multiple choice questions. Winners will be selected based on the overall top scores, and a raffle draw will be conducted in the event of more than one similar score. Cash prizes of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 30,000 will be awarded for the first, second and third place winners, respectively.
SLT Chief Marketing Officer Roshan Kaluarachchi said, “Dial and Win – Become an SLT Cricket Star gives the scores of cricket fans in the country an opportunity to be a part of the T20 action by dialling 1298 on their Citylink or Megaline connections and be rewarded in the process. We at SLT hope our customers will enjoy the cricket competition as well as all the T20 festivities.”
Conducted over 1298, the competition portal of SLT’s IVR service, the Dial and Win – Become an SLT Cricket Star cricket quiz consists of many special features such as being able to pause in the middle of a game or question round. Contestants can also complete one level or cricket match at a time and have the luxury of resuming their game from the next level or match the next time they call in. Additionally, contestants can stay updated of their respective scores as well as the highest scores prevailing by dialling 1298 at any time.
