Lenovo is one of the fastest growing major PC companies with a vision to become the leading personal technological company in the world. In Sri Lanka, Thakral One has been a business partner for Lenovo since the merger of Lenovo and IBM’s personal computing division in 2005. Thakral One markets the Lenovo Think-branded PCs as well as workstations and strives to be the preferred partner for personal computing solutions in Sri Lanka. Hayleys Group, one of Sri Lanka’s largest multinational business conglomerates who drives a globally competitive business portfolio, were facing challenges with the company’s PC brand for personal computing needs in terms of delivery times and on certain occasions on reliability. To overcome these complexities, the group decided to use a second PC brand solution for their personal computing needs and Thakral One presented the Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks and ThinkCenter desktops. “Due to the short lead time involved in sourcing the client requirements from Thakral One headquarters in Singapore they were able to meet our requirements in a fast and efficient manner,” says Hayleys Group CIO Ajith Dandeniya. attune, a subsidiary of MAS Holdings – the largest apparel conglomerate in Sri Lanka and the region’s number one supplier of intimate apparel – is a team of trusted business technology advisors who work with fashion and lifestyle brands to transform their business performance. “attune is using Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks supplied by Thakral One for its Sri Lanka office as well as its subsidiaries located in US, UK, Germany, India, Italy, China, Hong Kong and Australia. Lenovo’s hardware technology and security features provided the perfect laptop for our consultants,” says attune Group Global IT Manager Indika Ramachandran. WSO2 is another global enterprise that benefited from Lenovo’s hardware technology. “WSO2 is a global enterprise middleware corporation with offices in USA, UK and Sri Lanka, providing the only complete open source middleware platform. For our engineers amounting over 250, computer equipment of quality is a central requirement. WSO2 has been purchasing Lenovo machines for our engineering team from Thakral One since 2009. We have continued to buy Lenovo machines from them because they have proven to be hardy, durable and of high performance. Thakral One has been a very reliable and obliging service provider who has gone over and beyond the expected level in customer service. I have no hesitation in recommending both Lenovo and Thakral One,” says WSO2 Director Human Resources & Administration Udeshika Ratnavira. Elaborating on Thakral One’s longstanding partnership with Lenovo, Senior Vice President – Sri Lanka and Maldives Channa de Silva states: “Thakral One is well known in the market as a primary business partner for Lenovo in Sri Lanka. We have established longstanding partnerships with our key corporate and government customers to support their Lenovo products, which is a testimony to the unparalleled service and support that we provide.” Commenting on the partnership with Thakral One, Lenovo Sri Lanka Country Business Manager Yusuf Shiraz states: “Thakral One with their exceptional local talent pool, coupled with access to experienced global resources via their worldwide network, has been an ideal regional partner for Lenovo. With Lenovo’s recent acquisition of IBM’s xSeries server business, we feel that Thakral One as a Lenovo business partner in Sri Lanka is in a strong position to serve our customers overall ICT requirements.” Thakral One Sri Lanka provides robust solutions including collaboration, core banking, business analytics, IT security, IT infrastructure including data centres and offer reliable long-term managed support to clients in banking and finance, telecommunication, government and manufacturing verticals.
