Virtusa Corporation, a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, won merit in the Applications and Tools category for ERA Insight at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA Awards) 2014. ERA Insight is Virtusa’s comprehensive code quality, reuse and productivity governance solution that leverages best-of-breed open source and in-house tools to deliver high quality, robust and powerful software. “It’s an honour to represent Sri Lanka at the APICTA Awards 2014 and win the merit award for our software development governance platform, ERA Insight,” said Virtusa Head of Digital/General Manager and Senior Vice President Madu Ratnayake. “ERA Insight is built on unique insights that we have gained in delivering high-quality software to global software product companies. Innovatively bringing in analytics and gamification to the software development lifecycle, this solution has been widely recognised by both clients and analysts for the value it provides to any software delivery organisation, especially in complex multi-vendor outsourcing environments.” Having won the Silver award at the National Best Quality ICT Awards (NBQSA) 2014, Virtusa’s ERA Insight Solution was been nominated to represent Sri Lanka at the APICTA awards. ERA Insight was one of the only two merit award winners from Sri Lanka at the event. “We are excited to see ERA Insight, a solution that was developed at our Advanced Technology Centre in Colombo, being recognised at the APICTA Awards 2014. This award is a tribute to the ingenuity of our fellow Virtusans who, staying true to Virtusa’s core philosophy of building software ‘Right First Time’, work tirelessly to drive efficiencies in software development to greater heights,” said Virtusa, Sri Lanka Senior Vice President and Global Head of Engineering Chandika Mendis. Dubbed as the ‘Oscars of the ICT arena’, this is an international awards program organised by Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) with the aim of increasing ICT awareness in the community and helping bridge the digital divide. The 2014 event saw over 180 ICT products from 18 countries in the region compete under 15 categories with the jury selecting an overall winner and a merit awardee in each category. In 2014 Everest Group, a leading global management consulting firm that advises business leaders on the next generation of global services, in its report ‘In Search of ADM Productivity’ recognised Virtusa for its innovative software development productivity and ‘Right First Time’ solution, ERA Insight, and employee engagement and gamification platform, V+. The company was recognised for creating solutions that demystify software development productivity and quality at the individual engineer level and gamify personal excellence for engineers.
