Bay Leaf offers fresh pasta promotion from 15-31 July

The Bay Leaf has continued to offer authentic Italian cuisine and already promotes a range of homemade fresh pasta at the restaurant. This month it highlights this aspect by offering a special menu with fresh pasta dishes.

With culinary flair and inspired creativity, Chef Saroj has been interpreting traditional Italian cuisine to the great delight of all those in Colombo who enjoys and values a good meal in a wonderful atmosphere set in a grand colonial mansion in the heart of Colombo’s residential district.

The range of fresh pasta offers pappardelle, tagliatelle, lasagna, ravioli and fettucine among others which include cocoa pasta, spinach pasta and black olive pasta to give you a fine variety of tastes to enjoy. Pasta is typical of different cultures and countries, but the most famous varieties and recipes come from Italy (apart from the menu, fresh pasta can also be purchased at the Bay Leaf for home cooking.)

The special menu offers pappardelle al cacao raug di funghi e panna (home made fresh cocoa pasta tossed with sautéed mixed mushroom, herbs, parmesan and cream), timballo di tagliolini con Bolognese e melanzane ( fresh egg pasta stuffed with mozzarella, beef ragu, egg plant, deep fried and served with spicy pomodoro sauce), tagliatelle verdi con prosciutto (homemade spinach pasta tossed with honey glazed ham, mushroom, bacon, cream and parmesan cheese), tagliatelle nero di olive con gambaratti (black olive pasta with prawns, garlic, chili mushroom and fresh tomato)and fettuccine rosse alla pugliese (home made fresh pasta with mixed roasted capsicum, sundried tomato, chicken and fresh spinach).

A delectable selection of Italian desserts such as cassata alla sicilliana, zabaglione con gelato and pannacotta are available to end a fine dining experience at the Bay Leaf.
