Aluth Avurudu is around the corner! This is a one of a kind celebration which receives great reverence in Sri Lanka alone. Usher in Avurudu at one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most important surviving colonial buildings. With a substantial history spanning 200 years and holding a very important place in the heritage of Sri Lanka, the Mount Lavinia Hotel would like to welcome you to revel in age-old traditions at the hotel this season.
What better way to celebrate Avurudu than indulging yourself with the finest traditional sweetmeats from the Avurudu connoisseur himself: Chef Publis. An elaborate preparation of Avurudu treats signifies the very essence of Avurudu and food will feature heavily in the many events at MLH.
With this in mind, the team at MLH has set up an authentic ‘Publis’ Kevili Kade’ from 9 to 14 April which will have Sinhala and Tamil New Year treats made by Chef Publis himself.
The hotel will be flooded with the sweet aromas of Avurudu as Sri Lanka’s quintessential festive foods will be prepared and made available in all its authenticity at the hotel. Please call 2711 430 for further details.
