Cinnamon Lakeside’s grand Iftar buffet at The Dining Room

This Ramadan the chefs at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo outdo themselves with the Iftar buffet spread at The Dining Room.  Inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine and coupled with Malaysian and Indian influence, the selection of dishes will be both nutritious as well as delicious.  

During the month of Ramadan, The Dining Room offers an Iftar snack menu at sunset in addition to the dinner buffet at no additional charge.  The menus may differ daily and include an assortment of beverages such as fresh fruit juices, king coconut water, faluda or fresh milk as part of the preliminary snack.  The Iftar snack will feature the traditional dates and dry nuts along with chicken and plain ‘kanji’ or porridge, chicken shawarma, mini pizzas, vegetable pies, tandoori chicken puffs, vegetable or mutton samosas, falafel and freshly cut fruits.

The already impressive international dinner buffet will receive a touch of Middle Eastern flavor with dishes such as an Arabic lentil soup, kabsa rice which is infused with flavour from the chicken or mutton it is cooked in, vermicelli rice, fish sayadia, Arabic mixed grill, kofta and vegetable or lamb moussaka.  The salad bar will include mutable, baba ghanoush, hummus, fattoush and tabbouleh.  Whilst the menu may vary on different days, the buffet will remain remarkable.

A beautiful dessert counter will include mahalabiya, a milk based dish sprinkled with nuts, basbusa, and umali amongst several other sweet and mildly sweet desserts.

The Iftar and dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 1,650++++ per person.  It will exclude pork dishes during the month of Ramadan.  Separate ladies and gents prayer rooms have been arranged with facilities to take ablution.  A prior reservation is advised for which The Dining Room maybe contacted on 2491930.
