Mount Lavinia Hotel (MLH), the monument of love, between a colonial governor and a local dancing girl 210 years ago, has lined up some truly romantic events for Valentines day on 14 February. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two, or a quiet evening with a loved one, or a family get-together, we have something special for everyone, to celebrate this Valentines Day in style.

Treat your loved one to any of the following events lines during the month of February at MLH.

Chocolate and Wine Pairing (12 February, Maitland State Room) – Some say it can’t be done, pairing wine with chocolate, but if you have the right wine to complement the right chocolate it can be a match made in heaven! Whether you are pairing a delicate white chocolate or a lively dark chocolate with wine, there are a few pairing tips to keep in mind.

Chocolate Beverage Menu (1-29 February at the Terrace) – February is a month of passion and romance, a chocolate infused beverage menu will be available to all the chocoholics during the month at the Terrace.

Chocolate High Tea Buffet (1–29 February) – A selection of delectable chocolate treats that will satisfy all chocolate craving fans along with traditional afternoon Tea at the Governors/Terrace.

Truffles for Couples (Friday – Sunday during the month) – A range of truffles served with your choice of chocolate beverage at the Terrace.

Chocolate Martini Mixalogy (21 February – Imperial Room) – Enjoy a chocolaty evening where you can gain tips on how to make your own chocolate martini’s garnished with dark and white exotic chocolates. Learn to pour like a pro and mix like a master and take a tour of cacao producing countries.

Chocolate Dinner Extraordinaire – (12 February Horizon Roof Top) – Immerse yourself and indulge in an extraordinary 7 course menu and enjoy to your heart’s content. Lovers Hut – (14 February at the Beach) – Due to popular demand, after last year’s resonant success, Mount Lavinia Hotel once again invites you to experience absolute privacy and ultimate romance in specially created ‘Lovers Hut’ on the beach by the Indian ocean. The love nests are for two persons, covered on three sides and only open toward the Indian Ocean offering lovers total seclusion. Limited Huts are available on a first come first served basis. Please make early reservations to avoid disappointment.

Tree Hut Dinner – (14 February at the Beach) – Experience a private, romantic 7 course sumptuous dinner including a bottle of wine. The venue for this dinner is a secluded cabin built on stilts and opened out into the Indian Ocean, converted for the night into a romantic dinner spot (first come first serve basis only).

Symphony of Seafood (14 February at the Seafood Cove) – If you prefer a quiet dinner on the beach with your feet in the sand, this is for you. Choose your own seafood and have it cooked your favourite way at the seafood market at the Seafood Cove from 7p.m. onwards.  The Chocolate covered Sunday Jazz Brunch – Taste the different flavours and combinations at the Chocolate covered Governor’s Brunch

Tucked away within the colonial grandeur of MLH, Terrace is one of World’s best gathering places. The magic of a candle lit meal, offering a lavish spread with magnificent main courses, delightful desserts and aphrodisiacs at the Terrace.
