Colombo, August 14, 2012….. Hilton Colombo today announced an “Organic” food promotion at the hotel’s signature restaurant; Spoons from 21st to 31st August. Guests will enjoy a healthy organic menu carefully prepared and created by two of the most popular chefs in the country, Executive Chef Rohan Fernandopulle and Bocuse d’or contestant Buddika Samarasekera.
Using less synthetic pesticides, the Organic menu will be a menu that will be rich in flavor with generous use of fresh and natural produce.
‘”Hilton Colombo continues to strive in maintaining its reputation for delivering global cuisine. The organic menu will be something different and our team of chefs will ensure that there will be an explosion of flavor in every bite.” said the hotel’s General Manager, Rudolf Troestler.
Commenting on the menu Executive Chef Rohan Fernandopulle said “Diners are more health conscious now and extremely careful of what they consume. As a Chef it is important to cater to their needs whilst balancing the right flavours in a dish”. Crispy pumpkin flower stuffed with butternut & feta served with organic green tomato jam and rocket salad, Poached & seared free range chicken stuffed with forest mushroom & emmental with dombagahawatte tea jus, Avocado parfait with sour sap smoothie & orange sorbet are just to name a few of this “one of a kind” menu.
