‘Trail,’ a charity walk in aid of the Cancer Hospital in Jaffna, made a pit stop at the Galle Face Green on 11 July 2011.

Trail is an event organised by MAS holdings of Sri Lanka and is sponsored by many other Sri Lankan Governmental and Non Governmental Organisations.

‘Trail’ commenced its journey on 3 July 2011 and will walk around the island before ending later this month. Trail is expected to complete 670km.

The Galle Face Hotel was delighted to have sponsored refreshments for 500 participants who arrived at the green on 7 July. The Galle Face Hotel’s staff, General Manager Jason Cooley, and Senior Vice President of the Ceylon Hotels Corporation Chandra Mohotti were present at the venue to welcome the ‘Trail’ parade.

Following the pit stop at Galle Face, the participants continued at Green Path on Friday and Saturday night. A street food festival was organised to raise further funds. All five star hotels participated, including the Galle Face Hotel which had an outlet hosting Mongolian food at the festival.
