This Valentine’s Day you would certainly be hard pressed to find a more romantic location than Nihonbashi.
Known for its authentic Japanese cuisine, Nihonbashi is one of the few restaurants in Sri Lanka which offers private dining rooms – making it the perfect venue for an intimate Valentine’s dinner. What’s more this year Nihonbashi has created an incredibly tempting eight course Valentine’s menu for two, as well as offering an appetizing choice of Bento Boxes to take away and enjoy with your loved one.
With its soft, ambient lighting and invitingly intimate atmosphere, Nihonbashi’s wine room has long been considered one of Colombo’s most romantic destinations.
This Valentine’s Day Nihonbashi are going all out to ensure a fantasy evening of romance, complete with rose petals, bubbly (the same bubbly that was served at Kate and Will’s wedding last summer) and eight courses of delightful Japanese dishes. Priced at Rs. 50,000 the evening may not be for the budget conscious, but the evening is guaranteed to be one you’ll remember – and can you really put a price on perfection?
Lesser known than the wine room, but equally intimate is Nihonbashi’s Hana Room. With a view of Nihonbashi’s Japanese rock garden this private room is simple, cosy and perfect for two. Priced at Rs. 40,000, diners who make reservations at the Hana room will be treated to as fantastical an evening as those in the Wine Room, including the rose petals, bubbles and the eight course menu. The En and Ryu rooms are also available for private dining at Rs. 40,000 each.
The specially compiled eight course Valentine’s menu is also available to those not dining in Nihonbashi’s private rooms. The menu, which is priced at Rs. 8,500+++ per couple, is simple but sophisticated, featuring delicate dishes such as Maguro Carpaccio, finely sliced pieces of ruby red tuna served with soy sauce and wasabi olive oil, as well as Nihonbashi’s decadent Wagyuu Burgers, which sees a 120 grams of famous Japanese wagyuu beef and pork combined to make a satisfyingly juicy patty, served in a steamed and toasted bun. For those who prefer to dine in than dine out, Nihonbashi will also provide a choice of take away Bento Boxes this Valentine’s Day. Perfect for those who want to enjoy a meal in the comfort of their own home, but don’t want to slave away in a hot kitchen, or for those who perhaps want to enjoy a romantic meal in their favourite spot. There are two options to choose from priced at Rs. 3,000+++, and Rs. 3,600 respectively – see Nihonbashi’s Facebook page for more details. Whether you’re indulging in a delicious Japanese meal with the one you love, taking away a Bento Box to enjoy in your own home, or enjoying an intimate dinner in one of Nihonbashi’s private rooms Nihonbashi is the place to celebrate your love this 14 February.
