This is to request the health authorities to permit the ritual of Pamsukula for the Buddhists which is on hold at present and allow the burial of COVID-19 infected dead bodies in the existing burial grounds for Muslims and others.
In case of burial grounds not conforming to the required specifications in the guidelines for burial, I suggest that we excavate the soil and then line the base and the four sides with concrete.
Then fill it with soil again and keep it ready for burial.
This way we could overcome many logistic issues we are facing at the moment by taking the dead bodies to faraway places such as Otamavadi.
Hope DGHS Asela Gunawardena will kindly consider the above request as the above proposition is definitely a better option, more economical and feasible for burial of COVID cadavers.
