Dissolve Parliament and appoint a caretaker government

The new President on the strength of the mandate he obtained on 8 January formed a minority Government under the present PM. After several months of functioning it appears that the Government performance and decisions are no longer acceptable to either the Parliament or the people. This overall situation is creating uncertainty in the country, particularly the corporate sector as well as foreign investors.

I therefore suggest to the President that he immediately after dissolution of Parliament sooner than later appoint a caretaker government to govern this country until the new Parliament and a more stable government is established.

It is very important that the President if permitted in the Constitution appoints to the caretaker government strong and competent professionals who will not have a direct involvement in the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, the caretaker government should also ensure that the present judicial and police inquiries on cases pertaining to serious offences committed in the recent years are continued as expeditiously as possible as there are public perceptions that these cases/inquiries are being interfered into by some people in power.
