Water Board and water bills

The water meter reader who visited my residence last month on 7 February has not visited to date (23 March). When I checked with my niece, Zainab Zaqraf, who is residing in another lane in Layard’s Broadway, informs me that the meter reader has abruptly stopped reading the meter halfway down the lane for he has run out of invoices.

How about the loss of revenue to NWSDB due to the delay in processing the invoices? I have no doubt that the consumers can dispute the charges if the bill is computed after 1½ months (i.e. in case if the meter reader does come either today/tomorrow) because of the complicated tariff which has both fixed and variable cost compounded by calculating pro rata on account of the invoice not being raised on time.

It is definitely going to confuse the consumers as you can’t expect all of them to be proficient in maths.

Over to NWSDB not to overburden the consumers by charging the consumers for consumption for 1½ months or more for the month of March.
