The much awaited exhibition of creative photography – ‘Infocus’ will take place for the fifth year at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre on 19 and 20 May with veteran film actor/director Ravindra Randeniya as chief guest. This year’s exhibition will also mark the launch of a coffee table book titled ‘Sri Lanka In Focus’.
Infocus consists of a group of talented professionals who have found common purpose through their passion for photography. They combine diverse interests in the realm of photography. Infocus 5 promises to be an event not to be missed by professional photographers as well as photography enthusiasts.
The walls of the Lionel Wendt Art Centre will adorn around 150 colour and monochrome images selected by an elite panel consisting of Panduka De Silva, Henry Rajakaruna and Ravindra Ranasinghe. Several images have been capped in their photographic work in the fields of nature and wildlife, street and in art photography, competing at National and International competitions and salons to gain fitting recognition and accolades to the group in general.
An important feature of this year’s exhibition is the launch of ‘Sri Lanka In Focus’, a coffee table book depicting the various aspects of Sri Lankan life: Culture and Heritage, Nature and Wildlife and People and Places. The book will consist of around 250 photographs in colour and monochrome, personally selected by photography maestro Panduka De Silva. It is believed that this book which brings Sri Lanka into focus through photographs will be a useful souvenir for visitors to Sri Lanka and a must have for all those interested in the beauty of Sri Lanka and its heritage.
