Action thriller “Monkey Man” in 12 cinemas in Sri Lanka from today

Action thriller film “Monkey Man” will be screened in 12 cinemas of Sri Lanka from today.

They are PVR Cinemas, Colombo City Centre, Kandy City Centre, Liberty Kollupitiya, Liberty Kiribathgoda, Chaya Cinema, Movie Works Lite Cinemas, Majestic Colombo, Regal Katubedda, Regal Bandarawela, Regal Dematagoda and Regal Gampaha.

The film marks the directorial debut of Patel, who co-produced the film and stars in the lead role, alongside Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sikandar Kher, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, and Makarand Deshpande.

Patel co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. A young man ekes out a meagre living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he’s beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, he discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.
