Reigning Mrs. Sri Lanka and 1st Runner Up for Mrs. World 2025 Ishadi Amanda |
The reigning Mrs. Sri Lanka Ishadi Amanda, who is also the 1st Runner Up for Mrs. World 2025, and an ardent animal lover and vegetarian herself, will be the Chief Guest at Paw-Sperity, an Avurudu and Easter Xtravaganza. Guaranteed to be a shopper’s delight, Paw-Sperity will take place on 29 March from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Atrium Lobby of the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo with over 50 stalls that will cater to everyone’s Avurudu and Easter shopping requirements.
Paw-Sperity, which is being held in aid of Rescue Animals Sri Lanka (RAS), in partnership with the Cinnamon Grand, Wijeya Newspapers and Zelus Consult, has all the trappings of making it the Shopping Fest of the Season.
“SantaPaws, the precursor to Paw-Sperity, also held in aid of RAS in December last year was a resounding success and we had almost every single vendor requesting us to do another bazaar for Valentines Day. However, I felt that was a little too soon and decided to do so for Avurudu and Easter, a joint celebration, combining the best loved elements of both,” RAS Co-Founder Anusha David.
Ishadi Amanda, who made history by securing the title of First Runner-Up at the 40th Mrs. World pageant, held in Las Vegas, USA, promptly agreed to RAS’ request to be their Chief Guest being a vegetarian and animal lover herself. She will be accompanied by her son as she firmly believes in the fact that children should be encouraged to care for animals.
With both Avurudu and Easter being just one week apart, Paw-Sperity will cater to those who celebrate both these heartwarming traditional festivities, and what’s more, you will be contributing to the welfare of the voiceless too!
Clothing for the entire family, bed and table linen, footwear, dolls and kids games, cosmetics, both Batik as well as regular saris, jewellery, skin care, dreamy nightwear, handmade designer handbags, accessories, homemade wines, chutneys and pickles, organic foods, table and bed linen, cushions, arts and crafts, stationery and greeting cards, crochet and knitted products, environmentally friendly pet products made out of natural rubber and coir, scented candles, perfumes, health and gluten free foods , vegan foods , bath and body care, a range of specialty Avurudu Rasa Kavili and Easter goodies from the Cinnamon Grand, macramé, household items, and much more , Paw-Sperity has just about everything you need to get you into the celebratory spirit. David, who has been an animal welfare activist since the age of eight, following in her father’s footsteps, urges people to be aware of the fact that humans and animals must coexist. “The current call to eliminate monkeys, peacocks and other wildlife, the Health Ministry halting the sterilising and neutering of street animals, the decimation of our National Treasure – elephants, with agriculture being used as an excuse by ignorant officials and worse, government ministers, only highlights the utter crassness and ignorance displayed by both the Government and local Government,” she said.
Join for a heartwarming and festive experience at the Paw-Sperity Xtravaganza where traditional festivities combine with a cause close to our hearts – animal welfare.
