Aviraté, an international fashion label that has taken Sri Lanka’s retail innovation to new heights, recently bagged the Bronze Award in the Retail Category and the Silver Award for The Best Digital Marketing Innovation at the SLIM Digis 2018 Awards for its Virtual Reality Shopping experience.
The ‘Virtual Mirror’ was introduced by Aviraté in November 2017, which works by using a motion sensor to display the customer’s own reflected image on a screen and enables customers to simply swipe through the various augmented garments, created via highly sophisticated 3D image processing techniques, which instantly appear over the customer’s reflected image, adjusting accordingly to their size, thus, allowing the customer to try out various different garments by holding a hand up and swiping in front of the ‘Virtual Mirror’.
In February 2018, Aviraté took the virtual shopping experience in the retail industry another step forward with the launch of their ‘3D Virtual Store’. The 3D Virtual Store allows customers to ‘walk’ through the Aviraté Flagship Store right from the comfort of their homes. It offers customers the convenience of shopping at an Aviraté Store without the limitations faced by a conventional store, such as closing times and parking space.
The prestigious SLIM Digis 2018 awards are the first of their kind that celebrates and honours Sri Lankan’s best digital marketing work, innovation and talent, and recognise the region’s growing influence on the global digital industry.
