BIC Razors introduced its latest, cutting-edge Flex 5 disposable razor to the local market on 20 March at Hilton Colombo Residences. The state-of-the-art razor consists of six blades, specially crafted to give the perfect shave.
During the launch event BIC also introduced the BIC Flex 3 and BIC Flex 4 which offer features similar to those offered by BIC Flex 5 as well as two variants of BIC Shaving foam under the BIC for Men range namely, ‘Sensitive ‘and ‘Refresh’.

Over the years, BIC Razors have maintained these two qualities and the BIC Flex 5 range offers a better experience to users given the technological expertise and the depth of research that the team put into creating this product.”
Manufactured in France, the BIC Flex 5 features five flexible blades for an ultra-smooth and close shave, an ergonomically designed handle that provides balance and control as well as a built-in precision blade for precise shaving and styling.
BIC Middle East and Southern Asia Shaver Category Product Manager Mina Ishak noted: “We were here two years back and we promised that Sri Lanka would be the first market to get the new products of BIC. We first started as a single blade and have now launched a six blade razor that is of the latest technology.”
BIC is the market leader in the disposable razor category in Sri Lanka with a market share over 70%. Sri Lanka plays a key role in terms of market for BIC as it is the only country where BIC is No. 1 both in volume and value. The company facilities in France which possesses ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification, use high precision technologies such as NANO Technology to produce blades featuring blade edges that are 2,000 times finer than a strand of hair.
Darley Butler Distribution CEO Buwanka Manamperi stated, “The BIC Flex 5 will be distributed island wide to all retailers and we hope that every customer would soon come into possession of the innovative razor that will give them the best shaving experience.”
The two variants of shaving foam, ‘Refresh’ and ‘Sensitive’ are part of the BIC ‘Shaving preparations’ range of products which allow users to enjoy an enhanced shaving experience. ‘Refresh’ is made of menthol and aloe vera to provide an extra sensation of freshness whilst ‘Sensitive’ especially made for sensitive skin types contains Chamomile extracts.
BIC South Asia Business Development Manager in Sri Lanka Kevin Cameron said, “We must specially thank our colleague from overseas and our partners here in Sri Lanka. We are confident that these razors will bring great success to BIC especially in the local market. As mentioned our focus here is to offer a good and quality product to our customers.”
BIC Flex 5 features a pivoting head that includes a lubricating strip infused with Vitamin E and aloe-Vera gel. These additional features combine together to help users reach narrow under the nose area and other difficult facial areas and effortlessly sculpt the beard or attain a fresh clean-shaven look.
Flex 5 along with the shaving foam that is available in 250 ml and 70 ml will be sold at all supermarkets and leading retail outlets at an affordable price. Officials from Darley Butler also stated that a three bladed shaver specially designed for women will be soon launched as well.
