A taste of Avurudu – Live cooking and cultural vibes
Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a truly Sri Lankan New Year from 12-15 April, starting from 5 p.m. onwards at the Lobby.
Watch live demonstrations of traditional sweetmeats being made, like Kawum and Kokis, and enjoy the rhythmic beats of Raban drums as the hotel lobby transforms into a celebration of Avurudu culture.
Celebrate Avurudu tradition and taste at Nuga Gama
On 14 April, step into a truly authentic village-style Avurudu celebration at Nuga Gama. Starting at 8 a.m., guests can enjoy a lavish Kavili table and lunch buffet filled with traditional sweets and festive Sri Lankan dishes.
There’ll also be Avurudu games and vibrant activities to keep the whole family entertained.

All through April 2025, Cinnamon Grand Colombo invites families to enjoy a joyful dining experience where children under 10 dine free during lunch and dinner at Plates.

Palms of sweets – A taste of Avurudu tradition
From 10-14 April, Coffee Stop presents a beautifully crafted Thal Kola box filled with traditional Sri Lankan Avurudu sweets. From Kokis to Kalu Dodol and milk toffee, this box is the perfect gift for loved ones or even a personal festive treat.
