As a curtain raiser to International Day of Yoga 2018, Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India in Colombo in collaboration with Aayush, Sri Lanka and Astanka Yoga Mandir will be organising a lecture-demonstration titled ‘Pranayama as therapy’ by Manisha Singhania from India on Monday 19 March at 10 a.m. at its auditorium at Indian Cultural Centre, 16/2 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.
Manisha Singhania trained in yoga therapy from Yogarakshanam, Chennai, affiliated to International Yoga Society, has specialised in therapeutic yoga and yoga asanas with chants for the promotion of holistic health and for the prevention of specific diseases. Her approach is practical and aimed towards first establishing an emotional quotient with the patients then stepping forward to achieving a spiritual quotient.She has received an award from Nutrition and Natural Health Sciences Association for her work in yoga therapy. She has been conducting yoga workshops for the last three years at the India Club of Liechtenstein, as part of India Culture Week organised by Cultural Ministry of Liechtenstein, Germany.
