‘Love Local’ this Christmas with Selyn

Back again by popular demand is the Selyn ‘Love Local’ Christmas pop up sale which brings you delicious and unique Christmas gourmet and gifts all proudly made in Sri Lanka with love. This much awaited Christmas market will be held on 14 December from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at its flagship store in Colombo 5.  

Selyn is of course a household name for all things local and handloom and this year they also have in store a variety of non-handloom craft products made by artisans from all parts of the country.   

In addition, all the other local and social brands presently selling at Selyn outlets will be giving shoppers an additional reason to celebrate the festive season with a wide variety of unique gifts on offer. They include brands such as Rice & Carry, Salvage and Manga’s which offer a range of upcycled bags and jewellery. Beautiful Emerge Lanka jewellery will also be available in aid of some of the most vulnerable girls in our society. 

In addition, Andrea Boekel will exhibit her exquisitely made, hand-embroidered garments and home-ware, some embellished with gorgeous Brussels lace. Maze comes in with their Sri Lankan inspired funky socks, Vintage Teas and Oxygen brings you a range of organic teas and coconut-based products and Cally Reusable Bags make great gifts for the season. 

The vendor list for the pop-up has grown since last year and includes Tiras Homemade Goodies with their scrumptious puddings and Christmas treats, Saaraketha with a range of gourmet breads outside their usual range, Kimbula Kithul with their artisanal kithul honey, Belissima with their iconic chocolate biscuit puddings and LOWI with some delicious homemade lovi wine. In addition, FiLankan Funkies will offer homemade granolas and other cereals in aid of the Child Protection Force.  

If that hasn’t enticed you enough, they have Original Source and Supply, Maja – a new story and The Menike Collection coming in with wonderful and unique fashion pieces. Last but not least with a range of natural body care products is Swa Cosmetics and Four Elements. 

Selyn will also host renowned artist and children’s book author, Yasodhara Pathanjali who will run a special activity for kids from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to make their own Christmas cards. This is a paid event and need prior registration with [email protected].
