May Saps Holdings a specialist in health and lifestyle products has introduced new NAKD energy bars, TREK protein bars and ORS-Oral Rehydration Supplements to boost physical fitness and well-being.
May Saps Director Nissanka May said, “For the first time in Sri Lanka you are going to have a cereal bar that is unique. Unlike others it is completely natural and this is the first time that you will have anything that is lactose intolerant. Therefore a vast variety of patients and sportsmen could consume these products with no issues at all.”
The NAKD energy bars are packed with nutrition equivalent to a bowl of cereal and are made of fruits and nuts to combine a dairy free, gluten free product that will create a healthy lifestyle for all consumers. The bars have no added sugar and are even suitable for diabetics depending on individual dietary requirements.
The TREK protein bars are made especially as a fuel for one’s exercises with raw whole food ingredients that deliver sustained energy. Each bar is made in three segments to help fuel the consumer at certain intervals. Like the energy bars these too are dairy and gluten free and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
The bars contain 10 gm of protein each and consist of oats and nuts, each carefully considered to provide slow release energy when it is needed the most. It is ideal for pre and post workouts or as a snack to have before commencing a heavy day’s work. The ORS also known as Oral Rehydration Supplements are prepared in UK with the right amounts of electrolytes, glucose and minerals to replenish water and salts that help consumers to maintain a proper fluid balance.
These have been formulated according to the WHO standards to correct electrolyte imbalance, increase fluid absorption and bring hydration levels back to balance. These tablets contain no artificial preservatives and are suitable for both adults and children.
ORS tablets are commonly used by professional athletes, people engaged in exercises or participating in sports activities, constant travellers and those suffering from dehydration due to illnesses. Likewise they are ideal for pregnant mothers and general well-being.
One tube contains 12 tablets and is available in three flavours which are lemon, blackcurrant and strawberry. However food supplements should not be used to replace a well-balanced diet by any means. The three products will be available at all island wide pharmacies and leading supermarkets during the course of this week at an affordable price.
May stated that: “They are priced at a reasonable price so that the general public can afford it and we want to make sure that everyone is benefited from these great energy and protein bars as well as the ORS tablets. It is ideal for people who are keen about obesity, sugar or diabetes and covers a wide range. We want to make sure that we bring something unique in a way that we provide something for the community.”
